Solera Asset Managers offer portfolio solutions to help you achieve your most important life goals. Your portfolio receives attention from our experienced team. We believe investment decisions should carefully weigh your opportunity for growth and income against the possibility of risk or loss. We allocate your portfolio to help meet your needs for liquidity, stability, income and growth.
Diversification is a critical step in reducing risk to provide long-term growth and income. Solera reaches beyond the traditional levels of diversification through the use of alternative investments and the use of common investments but managed in an uncommon way. Our diversification strategy leads us to constantly scan the market for opportunities in both public and private sectors. As part of a well rounded portfolio, we may utilize the following types of investments:
- Cash and other investments
- Tax-Exempt Bonds
- Taxable Bonds
- Treasury Bills
- Treasury Notes
- Alternative Assets
- Exchange Traded Funds
- Options contracts
- Real Assets
- Real Estate
- Private Equity
Any asset we manage would be executed with the following being observed at all times:
- Diversified asset allocation
- Investment disciple
- Attempt to avoid loss
- Individualized approach
- Continual monitoring
It is always important to remember that diversification can not guarantee a profit or protect against a loss.
We have three unique strategies that are advised and managed in house by our founder Daryl Seaton. These three distinct strategies attempt to “protect” assets from catastrophic loss and volatile markets while attempting to grow your portfolio. These three strategies include Alternative Income, Broad Based Conservative Growth, and Global Energy.
The objective of the Alternative Income is to provide income along with increasing opportunities for investment growth. This strategy uses statistical probabilities and human behavior to establish investment outcomes. The strategy can be comprised of Master Limited Partnerships, U.S. and International Bond Funds, Real Estate Investment Trusts, U.S. Preferred Stock Funds, and U.S. Dividend Funds.
Broad Based Conservative Growth
The objective of the Broad Based Conservative Growth strategy is to seek long-term capital appreciation by focusing on three distinct goals. Those goals are: to avoid prolonged equity market declines, such as those experienced from 2000-2003 and again from 2007-2009; to strive for 10% annual returns over a ten year period of time; lastly, and least importantly, to outperform the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index with half the price volatility over a ten year period of time. The strategy focuses on U.S. and International Equities, U.S. and International Currencies/Bonds, REIT’s Commodities, and Precious Metals.
The objective of the Global Energy strategy is to enhance investment returns by utilizing an investment sector which, often provides growth cycles and other opportunities. Energy markets provide numerous cyclical events, as well as, increased trends without some of the difficulties we could face in other investing sectors. One of the reasons for focusing on energy is the consistent demand for energy on a global level. Whether it is wood, coal, water, wind, oil, natural gas or another type of energy demand, we will look to utilize these opportunities to enhance investment returns.
Third Party Strategies
We do not try to be the “Jack of All Trades, and the Master of None”. From time to time, as a part of a diversified strategy or because of a specific need/request of a client we will out-source investment management. We continue to monitor that manager and report to you on their strategy and performance. The managers we use are seasoned professionals with great track records and generally share our overall investment philosophy, grow assets and attempt to protect against an investment loss. We will also recommend a specific manager for their specific expertise in a sector of the investment universe, use of a specific asset, and because of their outstanding performance.
